Shoplifting is DOWN

Good afternoon all,

I am delighted to report that Operation Silky 2 was another huge success! 

Across the last week, we arrested 14 individuals for various offences inside the Edmonton Green Shopping Centre and for shoplifting around the borough. 15 Community Protection Warnings were issued, along with 5 Community Protection Notices. We also applied for 3 Criminal Behaviour Orders!

Officers were also able to seize various quantities of prohibited drugs over the last week, as well. Cannabis and class A substances can often contribute to the crime suspects commit, so the seizing of them plays a vital part in our prevention strategy.

In Enfield, reported shoplifting is 60% down and I cannot wait to share an updated look on this reduction in the new year!
